Summary
Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible on Wednesday in parts of the Ohio Valley, Upper Mississippi Valley and south-central Plains. These storms may produce heavy rain and flooding in the Ohio Valley. Meanwhile, a strong cold front will sweep through the Northwest U.S. with rain, mountain snow and high winds. Finally, heat and record high temperatures are likely across the Southern U.S.

 

Washington

Blowing Dust Advisory / Winter Weather Advisory/ Wind Advisory
  • Blowing Dust Advisory remains in effect from noon today to 10 PM PDT this evening
    • Strong and gusty winds are expected
    • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility
  • Winter Weather Advisory in effect from noon today to 5 AM PDT Thursday
    • Total snow accumulations between 5 to  inches
    • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions
  • Wind Advisory now in effect until 8 PM PDT this evening
    • Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
    • Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Oregon

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory in effect from noon today to 10 PM PDT this evening
    • For the Wind Advisory, west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
    • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Blowing dust can be expected, especially near any bare or recently plowed fields.

Idaho

Wind Advisory 
  • Wind Advisory in effect from noon today to 9 PM PDT this evening
    • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible
    • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Montana
High Wind Warning
  • High Wind Warning in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to 9 PM MDT Thursday
    • West winds 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 70 mph, are expected
    • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles

Colorado

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory in effect from 11 AM to 10 PM MDT Thursday
    • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected
    • Impacts:Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down

Utah

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory in effect from 11 AM to 10 PM MDT Thursday
    • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected
    • Impacts:Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down

Wyoming 

Winter Weather Advisory
  • Winter Weather Advisory in effect until further notice
    • Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast
    • Where: Red River
