There is a severe weather and isolated flooding threat from the Central to Northern Plains tonight into early Thursday. The severe weather threat will progress eastward to the Upper Mississippi Valley/Great Lakes into the Lower Ohio Valley Thursday. Major to extreme heat will continue to impact much of southern Texas into next week, where widespread record-breaking temperatures are possible. Michigan
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning
- Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
- Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, roadways and other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
South Dakota
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 1 AM CDT Friday morning
- Northwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 68 mph expected.
- Impacts: The high winds may damage roofs, small outbuildings, and signs. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris.
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 AM CDT Friday morning
- West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Virginia
Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EDT this afternoon
- Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
- Impacts: Flooding of low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Water is over roadways.
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning
- Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
