Weather Update 5.11.21 - U.S.

Isolated strong to severe storms capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts may occur across parts of the southern Plains into the Southeast. Heavy rains may cause localized flash, urban, and small stream flooding from the Southern Plains across the Lower Mississippi Valley through Wednesday.

Colorado
Winter Storm Warning
WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT THIS EVENING
  • Moderate to heavy snow will expected midday
  • Additional snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches expected by 6 pm with the highest amounts above 7500 feet
  • Roads will likely become slick and hazardous this afternoon
Wyoming
Winter Storm Warning
WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MDT TODAY
  • Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches above 9000 feet 
  • Total snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches
  • Mountain travel will be dangerous or impossible due to icy, snow packed roads and low visibility in falling snow
Texas
High Wind Watch
HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH LATE TONIGHT
  • Northeast winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible
  • Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles
