Summary: Yet another day of severe thunderstorms and dangerous fire weather conditions are likely on Wednesday. Widespread severe storms with heavy rain, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are expected across the Southeast section of the U.S., including the Atlanta metro area.

Montana
Winter Weather Advisory / High Wind Warning
  • Winter Weather Advisory in effect until noon MDT today
    • Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 2 inches
    • Winds gusting as high as 40 mph
    • Impacts: Blowing and drifting snow with reduced visibility at times
  • High Wind Warning remains in effect until noon MDT today
    • Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
    • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Snow combined with strong winds may produce whiteout conditions at times

 

Wyoming

Winter Weather Advisory / High Wind Warning
  • Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 6 AM this morning to midnight MDT tonight
    • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 1 to 3 inches at lower elevations
      • Over 6 inches at higher elevations
    • Winds will gust as high as 60 mph
    • Impacts: Snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility to a quarter mile or less. Plan on slippery road conditions
  • High Wind Warning now in effect until midnight MDT tonight 
    • West winds 45 to 55 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected
    • Impacts: Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight and high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers. There will be an extreme risk for vehicle blowovers

 

Colorado 

High Wind Warning
 
  • High Wind Warning remains in effect from 9 AM this morning to 7 PM MDT this evening 
    • Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected
    • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles

New Mexico

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT Thursday
    • North winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected
    • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs may be blown down. Expect strong cross winds on area roadways. Areas of blowing dust may reduce visibility to less than 5 miles at times

 

Texas

Wind Advisory / Flood Warning
  • Wind Advisory in effect 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT evening
    • North winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected
    • Impacts: High winds could make driving difficult for motorists with high profile vehicle
  • Flood Warning in effect from Tuesday evening to Thursday afternoon
    • Minor flooding is forecast

 

Oklahoma

High Wind Warning
  • High Wind Warning remains in effect from noon today to 10 PM CDT this evening
    • Northwest 25 TO 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
    • Impacts: High winds could make driving difficult for motorists with high profile vehicle

 

Kansas

High Wind Warning
  • High Wind Warning remains in effect from noon today to 8 PM CDT this evening
    • Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected
    • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. High winds could make driving difficult for motorists with high profile vehicle. Patchy blowing dust and minor visibility restrictions will be possible during the high winds

 

Nebraska

High Wind Warning
  • High Wind Warning now in effect until 8 PM CDT Thursday
    • Northwest winds 40 to 50 MPH with gusts up to 75 MPH expected
    • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and possibly power lines. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Patchy blowing dust and minor visibility restrictions will be possible during the high winds

 

North Dakota

High Wind Warning / Flood Warning

  • High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 AM CDT Thursday
    • Northwest winds up to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected
    • Impacts: Periods of falling snow combined with the strong winds could significantly reduce visibility at times on Wednesday night and Thursday
  • Flood Warning for snowmelt remains in effect until further notice

 

South Dakota

High Wind Warning / Winter Storm Warning
  • High Wind Warning now in effect until midnight MDT tonight
    • Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected
    • Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris
  • Winter Storm Warning  now in effect form 6 AM this morning to midnight MDT tonight
    • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 1 to 3 inches at lower elevations
      • Over 6 inches at higher elevations
    • Winds gusting as high as 60 mph
    • Impacts: Plan on slushy or slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility

 

Minnesota

Winter Weather Advisory / High Wind Warning / Flood Warning
  • Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 AM this morning to 1 PM CDT Thursday
    • A wintry mix of rain and snow. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches
      • Mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. Locally higher amounts are possible
      • Winds gusting as high as 60 mph
    • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions at times. Significant reductions in visibility may occur where falling snow combines with strong winds
  • High Wind Warning remains in effect from 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT Thursday
    • North winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected
    • Impacts: Travel will be difficult especially for high profile vehicles
  • Flood Warning for snowmelt remains in effect until further notice

 

Iowa

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory in effect now until 7 PM CDT Thursday
    • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected
    • Impacts: Areas of light snow are possible tonight into Thursday, especially north of I-90. Any falling snow combined with the strong winds could further reduce visibility
      and impact travel
 

Additional Flood Advisories include but not limited to: Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, and Illinois

  • Flood Advisories effective until further notice
    • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast
