U.S. Weather Update 4.22.24

Summary:
Low temperatures into the 20s and 30s are likely to lead to frost and freeze concerns in the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys tonight into Monday. A few severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and evening over southeast Florida, with the primary threats being damaging winds and hail. Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are expected across Colorado and the Dakotas this week. Impacted Lanes: I-94, I-90, I-35, I-80, I-29, I-70


Illinois 
Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 AM CDT Wednesday morning

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water over roadways. 

Kansas
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CDT this evening

  • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Additional Wind Advisories include but are not limited to: Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska
