A strong cold front will sweep through the East on Wednesday with heavy wet snow from the eastern Great Lakes into northern New England and strong thunderstorms with damaging winds in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The big story though will continue to be the well below average temperatures behind this storm system or east of the Rockies, as numerous record low temperatures are likely. Active Advisories: Ohio, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine

  • 2-4 inches of additional snow
  • Until noon EDT today
New York
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow occurring today across western NY
  • 3-6 inches of snow
  • Until 5 PM EDT this afternoon
Vermont
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected today across northern VT
  • 3-6 inches of snow
  • From 2 PM this afternoon to 8 AM EDT Thursday
New Hampshire
Winter Weather Advisory
Mixed precipitation expected today across northern NH
  • 3-5 inches of snow
  • 35mph wind gusts
  • From 6 PM this evening to 2 PM EDT Thursday
Maine
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected this afternoon across northern ME
  • 3-10 inches of snow
  • 40mph wind gusts
  • From 2 PM this afternoon to 4 PM EDT Thursday
