Summary: The threat of severe thunderstorm will continue overnight in the Deep South. There will be a threat of isolated severe thunderstorms on Thursday along the East Coast. Blizzard conditions will continue to impact portions of the Northern Plains Thursday before snowfall intensity diminishes by the afternoon

Oregon

Winter Weather Advisory
  • Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 11 AM PDT this morning
    • Wet snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 3 inches
    • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph
    • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions

 

California

Wind Advisory / Winter Weather Advisory
  • Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PDT this morning 
    • North winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph
    • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles
  • Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM PDT this afternoon above 4000 feet
    • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches
    • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult due to snow covered roads and reduced visibilities

 

Idaho

Winter Weather Advisory
  • Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until noon MDT today
    • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, except 3 to 6 inches over the mountains
    • Gusty southwest winds up to 25 mph
    • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Plan on slippery road conditions

 

Nevada

Winter Weather Advisory / Wind Advisory
  • Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 7 AM PDT Friday
    • Snow and blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 or more inches
    • Winds gusting as high as 45 mph
    • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches
  • Wind Advisory in effect until 2 PM Saturday
    • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
      • Wind prone areas could see gusts exceed 60 mph
    • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down. Travel could be difficult especially for high profile vehicles

 

Wyoming

Winter Weather Advisory
  • Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 6 AM MDT Friday
    • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected
      • Locally higher amounts possible across Star Valley and around Bondurant
    • Wind gusting to 30 to 40 mph at times, especially across southern Lincoln County
    • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Plan on slippery road conditions

 

Montana

Blizzard Warning
  • Blizzard Warning remains in effect until noon MDT today
    • Blizzard conditions occurring. Additional snow accumulation up to 1 inch
    • Wind gusting as high as 45 mph
    • Impacts: Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow will reduce visibility below a quarter mile for a significant period of time. Drifting snow will create poor road conditions
 
North Dakota
Blizzard Warning / Flood Warning
  • Blizzard Warning Remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening 
    • Snow and blizzard conditions. Visibilities below 1/4 mile
    • Additional snow amounts of 2 to 4 inches
    • Winds gusting as high as 50 mph with extensive blowing and drifting snow
      • Snow drifts as deep as 6 feet
    • Impacts: Travel nearly impossible. Widespread blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility
  • Flood Warning in effect until further notice
    • Minor flooding is forecast

 

South Dakota

High Wind Warning / Blizzard Warning
  • High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening
    • Northwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts to around 60 mph expected
    • Impacts: Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles
  • Blizzard Warning now in effect until noon MDT today
    • Blizzard conditions. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph
    • Winds gusting as high as 60 mph
    • Impacts:Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause tree damage

 

Minnesota

High Wind Warning / Winter Weather Advisory / Flood Warning
  • High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening
    • West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
    • Impacts: Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles
  • Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening
    • Snow showers expected. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches
    • Winds gusting as high as 40 mph
    • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility
  • Flood Warning now in effect until early Friday afternoon
    • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast

 

Iowa

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening
    • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts around 50 mph expected
    • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result
 

Missouri

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 AM CDT Thursday
    • South winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
    • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles
  • Flood Warning now in effect until further notice
    • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast
