Summary:
Severe thunderstorms are expected to produce several tornadoes, significant large hail, and damaging winds across most of Texas towards the Lower Mississippi Valley through Wednesday morning and across the Gulf Coast States on Wednesday. Heavy to excessive rainfall may lead to flash, urban, small stream and minor to moderate river flooding. Impacted Lanes: I-10, I-55, I-94, I-90, I-29, I-35, I-40, I-20, I-49, I-59, I-65, I-26, I-85, I-75, I-64, I-71 


Louisiana
Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning 

  • Severe Thunderstorms in the area. Wind gusts up to 60 mph and nickel size hair expected. Torrential downpour of rain occurring or expected. 
  • Impacts: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles in storms. 

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 11:30 AM CDT this morning 

  • Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
  • Impacts: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening

  • South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
     

Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over roadways. 

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CDT this evening

  • Minor coastal flooding of 1 to 2 feet above ground expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Tennessee
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 PM EDT Thursday afternoon

  • South winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
