Summary:
Severe thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon through Thursday night from southern Kansas to central Texas. Large hail and strong winds will be the primary hazards. Gusty winds and dry conditions will continue the elevated threat for wildfires in the central and southern High Plains. Critical fire weather conditions are expected across the southern High Plains Thursday. Impacted Lanes: I-15, I-40, I-80, I-84, I-90, I-29, I-94, I-76, I-70, I-35, I-20, I-55, I-59, I-65, I-22, I-75, I-16, I-85, I-10, I-77, I-26, I-91, I-95, I-89, I-93


Nebraska
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 AM CST Friday morning

  • Heavy snow expected with freezing rain possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with locally higher amounts and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM MST Friday morning

  • Mixed precipitation. Total Snow accumulations of up to 4 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze to a couple hundredths of an inch.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Texas
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

  • West winds 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles like campers, vans, and tractor trailers.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Maine
Flood Warning remains in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM EST this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and snowmelt is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding from small stream rises and ponding in low-lying areas. Water over roadways. 

Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Streams may rise out of their banks. Some urban areas may flood as well. Water over roadways. 

Alabama
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Patchy dense fog with visibility less than one quarter of a mile.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 3 PM CST Saturday afternoon

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
