Summary: Severe thunderstorms and heavy rains are expected to continue in the Southeast into the Ohio Valley. Widespread potential record high temperatures will continue throughout parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast today.

 
Major lanes of concern
  • Interstate 15 from Salt Lake City to Butte, Montana
  • Interstate 25 from Denver to Buffalo, Wyoming
  • Interstate 70 from Denver to the Interstate 15 junction in Utah
  • Interstate 80 from North Platte, Nebraska, to Salt Lake City
  • Interstate 90 in Montana from Missoula to Butte


Oregon
Winter Weather Advisory
Advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening into Wednesday morning
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 11.
  • The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening travel.
 
California
Freeze Warning / Wind Advisory
Freeze Warning remains in effect until 8 AM PST this morning. Wind Advisory now in effect from 6 AM this morning to 6 PM PST this evening
  • Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27
  • Northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
  • Gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles
 
Idaho
Winter Weather Advisory
Advisory in effect from 11 PM this evening to 5 PM MST Wednesday
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches likely.
  • Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes.
 
Montana
Winter Weather Advisory / Winter Storm Warning
Winter Storm Warning  and Advisories in effect from 9 PM this evening to 6 AM MST Wednesday.
  • Snow, heavy at times, expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 9 inches.
  • Winds gusting as high as 35 mph
  • Rapid accumulations and a flash freeze will likely accompany this heavy snow
  • Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.
 
Wyoming
Winter Weather Advisory / Winter Storm Warning
Advisory and Warning both remain in effect from 5 PM this afternoon into the weekend
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 10 inches
    • Higher elevation expected to receive 12- 18 inches of snow
  • Ice accumulations of a light glaze
  • Winds gusting as high as 40 mph
  • Mountain travel will be very difficult or impossible due to icy, snow packed roads and low visibilities in falling and blowing snow

 

Colorado
Winter Weather Advisory
Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM MST this afternoon above 9000 feet
  • Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts
  • Plan on slippery road conditions
 
Iowa
Winter Weather Advisory
Advisory remains in effect until noon today
  • Additional snow accumulations of up to 2 inches
    • Total snow accumulations of 1 to 5 inches
  • Ice accumulations of a light glaze
  • Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
 
Illinois
Winter Weather Advisory / Flood Warning
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon today. Flood Warning is in effect until further notice.
  • Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch
  • Ice accumulations between a glaze and a few hundredths of an inch
  • Urban area and Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues
  • Plan on slippery road conditions
 
Wisconsin
Winter Weather Advisory / Flood Warning
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon today. Flood Warning is in effect until further notice.
  • Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches
    • Total snow accumulations of 1 to 5 inches
  • Ice accumulations between a glaze and a few hundredths of an inch
  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast
  • Plan on slippery road conditions

 

Michigan

Winter Weather Advisory
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM EST this afternoon
  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches
  • Plan on slippery road conditions

 

New York

Winter Weather Advisory / Wind Advisory
Advisories in effect from 7 AM this morning to 7 PM EST this afternoon
  • Mixed precipitation including snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected
    • Additional snow accumulations of up to 1 inch
  • Areas of freezing rain expected. Ice accumulations of a light glaze.
  • West winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
  • The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute

 

Maine

Winter Weather Advisory
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 5 AM EST Tuesday
  • Snow and mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches
  • Sleet accumulations of between one and two tenths of an inch
  • Ice accumulations of a light glaze expected
  • The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute
  
Additional Wind Advisories include but are not limited to the following: Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.
