Summary:
A Pacific storm will bring widespread valley rain and mountain snow across California, the Great Basin, and the Intermountain West as well as portions of the Plains through Friday. Gusty winds may lead to periods of blowing snow and difficult travel conditions. Very dry air and strong winds will ramp up widespread critical conditions from eastern New Mexico into portions of western Texas. Wyoming
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 AM MST Friday morning
- Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 5 and 14 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
- Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and lead to dangerous travel conditions.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST Friday morning
- Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 11 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
- Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.
New Mexico
Blowing Dust Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM MST this evening
- Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. Visibility between one-quarter and one mile in blowing dust expected.
- Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM MST this evening
- Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.
- Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening
- Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

- West winds 20 to 25 mph with 45 to 50 mph gusts expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EST this morning
- Small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Water over roadways.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 5 PM EST this evening
- Flooding caused by rain, rapid snowmelt, and ice jams continues to be possible.
- Impacts: Flooding in low lying areas is possible. Flooding due to ice jams is also possible. The most prone areas for flooding will be where ice jams typically develop. Water over roadways is expected or occurring.
Mississippi
Flood Warning remains in effect until 3 PM CST Friday afternoon
- Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to continuous rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
Flood Advisory remains in effect until Tuesday, March 11th.
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways and ponding of water on roadways is occurring or is imminent.
