Mild, warm and above average temperatures are expected the next several days in the northern Plains and Upper Midwest. Meanwhile, a system will drop from the south-central Plains to Florida over the next couple of days with some rain and thunderstorms. Finally, locally heavy rain and mountain snow is expected across the Pacific Northwest into northern California the next few days. Active Advisories: Washington, California, New Mexico, Vermont

Snow continuing this morning above 4000ft in the Olympics
  • 6 inches additional snow
  • 40mph wind gusts
  • Until 10 AM PST this morning
California
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected to begin later today across northwest CA and the Sierra Nevada
  • Northwest CA
    • 2-7 inches of snow
    • From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 AM PST Saturday
  • Sierra Nevada
    • 3-8 inches of snow, locally up to 11
    • 10 PM Friday to 10 AM Saturday
New Mexico
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow continuing this morning in northeast NM
  • 4 inches additional snow
  • 50mph wind gusts
  • Through 9 AM MST Friday
Vermont
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected today across north central VT
  • 2-5 inches of snow, locally up to 6
  • 40mph wind gusts
  • Through 7 PM EST Friday
 
Additionally, High Winds are occurring in parts of Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico
