Weather Update 3.2.22

Summary: Overall a quiet few days are expected with the weather. A clipper system will track through the Great Lakes and Northeast with lake effect snow, rain and snow showers and gusty winds through Thursday. The constant moisture into the Northwest will gradually calm with just some rain showers lingering.

Major lanes of concern
  • Interstate 5 from Medford, Oregon, to Seattle
  • Interstate 90 from Seattle to Missoula, Montana
  • Interstate 84 from Portland to La Grange, Oregon
  • U.S. Highway 101 from Olympia, Washington, to the Washington-Oregon border

Texas

Dense Fog Advisory
Advisory in effect until 9 AM CST this morning for portions of south Texas.
  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog
  • Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility
 
Washington
Flood Warning
Flood Warning now in effect into Friday
  • Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast
  • Rising rivers will cause minor flooding of lowlands not protected by levees
 
Idaho
Flood Warning
Flood Warning now in effect until tomorrow afternoon.
  • Rain and melting snow will produce increased runoff
  • Minor flooding is forecast
  • Portions of roads may be underwater and impassable
 
Montana
Winter Weather Advisory
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until Friday morning. Snow and freezing rain expected.
  • Additional snow accumulations of up to three inches
  • Ice accumulations of up to a few hundredths of an inch
  • Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous
  • Black ice can be expected
 
North Dakota
Winter Weather Advisory / Dense Fog Advisory
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning. Dense Fog Advisory in effect until noon CST today
  • Mixed precipitation and light snow overnight has created a light glaze of ice
  • A freezing drizzle is expected impacting morning travel
  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog
  • The fog may deposit a thin layer of ice on untreated surfaces

 

Additional Flood Warnings in effect including but not limited to: Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Illouinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Washington.
