An intense area of low pressure near Nova Scotia is producing very cold and windy conditions across the Northeast. A slew of hazards are in effect from high wind warnings and wind advisories to wind chill warnings and advisories. Meanwhile across the South and Southeast a shield of locally heavy rain and some thunderstorms may result in a marginal threat of flooding across both regions.
