Summary: Locally strong thunderstorms with heavy downpours will impact parts of the northern Gulf Coast into central Florida Tuesday where flash, urban, and small stream flooding is possible. Impacted: I-5, I-90, U.S. Highway 101, U.S. Highway 12

Major lanes of concern:
  • Interstate 5 from Seattle to Stockton, California
  • Interstate 90 from Seattle to Butte, Montana
  • U.S. Highway 101 from Olympia, Washington, to San Francisco
  • U.S. Highway 12 in Washington from west of Yakima to east of Mossy Rock

 

Washington

Winter Weather Advisory / Wind Advisory

  • Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM PDT Wednesday
    • Snow. Snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches
      • Above 4000 feet, additional snow accumulations of up to 23 inches
    • Winds gusting as high as 40 mph
    • Impacts: Winter travel conditions should be expected over the pass. Travel could be very difficult to impossible at times
  • Wind Advisory in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM PDT this evening
    • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
    • Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles

Oregon


Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory now in effect until 8 PM PDT this evening
    • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
    • Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles

California

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory now in effect until 9 PM PDT Wednesday
    • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
    • Highways affected include, but are not limited to Highway 58, Highway 178, U.S. Highway 395, and Highway 14

 

Montana

High Wind Warning
  • High Wind Warning  remains in effect from noon today to 9 PM MDT this evening
    • Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph expected
    • Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles

Wyoming

High Wind Warning
  • High Wind Warning remains in effect until midnight MDT tonight
    • West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected
    • The strongest winds are expected later this afternoon through this evening for the Interstate 25 corridor
    • Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight and high profile vehicles 

 

Additional Dense Fog Advisories include but are not limited to: South Dakota, Nevada, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin

  • Dense Fog Advisories in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

    • Visibility less than one mile in dense fog
    • Roadways and sidewalks could be slick due to the combination of dense fog and sub-freezing temperatures
    • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility

 

Flood Advisories include but not limited to: Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Alabama

  • Flood Advisories effective until further notice
