A band of heavy snow Monday will shift across portions of the Northern Plains, Upper Midwest and Midwest as remnants of Winter Storm Xylia cross the central U.S. Areas of heavy snow are also expected in northern California and southeast Alaska. High winds are forecast Monday over interior southern California and southern Nevada. Over the weekend, many interstates were closed due to adverse conditions caused by Xylia, including I-70, I-25, and I-76 in Colorado, I-80 near North Platte in Nebraska, I-80 and I-25 in Wyoming, and I-40 in Arizona. additionally, Several tornadoes were reported on the warm side of Xylia in north Texas near Amarillo.
