Summary:
Storm-weary Californians are facing another strong Atmospheric River Event and the Northeast is bracing for a powerful Nor'easter. Heavy rain may produce widespread considerable flood threats, mudslides, and debris flows on burn scars. Dangerous to impossible travel expected across the interior Northeast due to heavy snow. The storm will produce damaging winds and widespread coastal flooding. Impacted Lanes: I-84, I-88, I-87, I-90, I-81, I-89, I-93, I-91, I-95, I-380, I-80, I-76, I-77, I-271, I-71, I-74, I-70, I-69, I-5, I-680, I-580, I-15 


California
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM PDT this afternoon

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. 
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Minor flooding of creeks and streams.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM PDT Wednesday afternoon

  • Heavy snow expected. Additional snow accumulations up to 2 inches for lower elevation areas including around Susanville. 4 to 8 inches west of US-395 below 6000 feet, with 1 to 2 feet above 6000 feet. 
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible with snowfall rates 1 to 2 inches per hour at times. Heavy snow accumulations could cause tree damage and lead to power outages.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT this evening

  • Southerly winds 20 to 40 mph with gusts 50 mph in the valleys. Gusts 55 to 70 mph immediate coastline and hills above 1000 feet.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected and roadways could be blocked by downed trees. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT Wednesday evening

  • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Nevada
Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Wednesday evening

  • Urban area and small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Wednesday evening

  • Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches can be expected between 8000 and 9000 feet with up to 2 foot possible at the peaks. 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected between 7000 and 8000 feet. Winds will gust as high as 50 MPH.
  • Impacts: Travel in mountain roads may be difficult at times. Slick roads are likely where snow accumulates on roadways.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM PDT Wednesday morning

  • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Blowing and drifting of snow and dust leading to reduced visibility, strong crosswinds affecting driving conditions, along with a few power outages are possible.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Tuesday evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and snow melt is expected.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and poor drainage areas. Flooding may occur in mountain urban areas due to deep snow confining flow and restricting drainage. Runoff exceeding drainage capacity is expected to impact roads, agricultural areas, and poor drainage areas.

Maryland
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. 

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM EDT this evening

  • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 2 AM EDT Wednesday morning

  • Snow and blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches, with the highest totals on west facing slopes. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Oregon
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PDT this morning

  • Visibilities of 1/4 mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
