Summary:
Snow showers, squalls and strong winds will affect portions of the Cascades and Rockies through Wednesday. Meanwhile, a developing storm across the Southern Plains will track toward the Great Lakes into Thursday as severe thunderstorms, flash flooding and strong winds are forecast for the Mid-Lower Mississippi Valley. Heavy snow is possible for the Upper Midwest and wintry mix for the Northeast. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-90, I-5, I-15, I-35, I-20, I-10, I-44, I-30, I-55, I-69, I-24


Montana
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 PM MDT this afternoon

  • Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations up to 3 inches on the plains, with between 6 and 12 inches at and above pass level. Winds gusting as high as 65 mph.
  • Impacts: Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11:59 PM MDT this evening

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MDT this morning

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

New Mexico
Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM MST this morning

  • Visibility less than one mile at times in freezing fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. This includes I-40 in the Clines Corners area.

California 
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. Visibility as low as 200 feet.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Oklahoma 
Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Flooding on low-lying roadways is imminent or occurring. 

Flood Watch remains in effect until 9 PM CST this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. 

Ohio 
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST Thursday evening

  • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts between 45 and 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

High Wind Watch remains in effect until 7 PM EST Thursday evening

  • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
