Summary:
A Pacific storm with atmospheric river will continue periods of heavy rain, mountain snow, and strong winds across much of California through Tuesday. Locally considerable flash, urban, and small stream flooding impacts are possible along the Transverse Ranges in southern California. Several feet of heavy snow likely above 6,000 feet in the Sierra and far northern California mountains. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-5, I-84, I-10, I-15, I-40, I-11, I-80, I-25


California
Flood Warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM PST this afternoon

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9:45 AM PST this morning

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST Wednesday morning

  • Wet snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches between 6000 and 7000 feet, 4 to 8 inches from 7000 to 8000 feet, and up to 1 to 2 feet above 8000 feet.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 PM PST this afternoon

  • Heavy snow for elevations above 4500 feet. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM PST this evening

  • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.
  • Impacts: Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 AM PST Wednesday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Localized flooding is possible with areas of heavy rainfall. Water over roadways is possible. 

Wyoming

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.
  • Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM MST Wednesday evening

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches.
  • Impacts: Winter driving conditions are expected.

Texas
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
