Weather Update 2.19.21 - U.S.

Slow warming can be expected across the Southern U.S., however, temperatures will remain much below normal into the weekend. A cold front will produce a wintry mix in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast with heavy rain that could cause flash flooding in the Southeast. A system in the Northwest will produce rain and mountain snow.

Washington 
Winter Weather Advisory
  • WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON
  • Additional snow accumulations of up to 12 inches
  • Plan on slippery road conditions. Travel may become difficult through the mountain passes
  • Heavy snow on Highway 2
 
 
Idaho
Winter Weather Advisory
  • WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON
  • Total snow accumulations of 1 to 8 inches
Winter Storm Warning
  • WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM PST THIS MORNING
  • Where: The Camas Prairie, including Grangeville
  • Gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph will cause widespread blowing and drifting of snow and possible whiteout conditions
  • Snow drifts may completely block roadways
 
Montana
Winter Weather Advisory
  • WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TODAY
  • Additional snow accumulations of up to 3 inches
  • Expect slick road conditions
  • Wind gusting up to 45 mph
Wind Advisory
  • WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON
  • Southwest winds gusting to 65 mph and significant blowing snow
  • Where: Livingston Area and Beartooth Foothills
  • Significant blowing snow will reduce visibility below one mile at times
 
Wyoming
High Wind Warning
  • HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON
  • West winds 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected
  • Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight and high profile vehicles
  • Areas of blowing and drifting snow may also result in slick roads and reduced visibility
  • Interstate 80 will be effected

  • ​Heavier amounts of Snow Tonight into Saturday
  • Where: Another wave of snow will return this evening across far western Wyoming
  • Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches
 
Texas
Hard Freeze Warning
  • HARD FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST THIS MORNING
  • temperatures of 16 to 23 degrees
Wind Chill Advisory
  • ​Dangerous winds chills ranging between the middle teens to middle 20s are expected early this morning
  • The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin
  • Expect wind chills to range from 15 above zero to 25 above zero
 
Michigan
Winter Weather Advisory
  • ​WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 4 AM EST SATURDAY
  • Lake effect snow showers expected
  • Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts possible
  • Plan on slippery road conditions with some periods of moderate to heavy snow reducing visibility

  • Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch
  • Expect hazardous conditions

  • Freezing rain. Additional ice accumulations of less than a tenth of an inch
Winter Storm Warning
  • ​WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TODAY
  • Additional ice accumulations of up to two tenths of and inch in some areas
  • Additional snow and sleet accumulations of less than one half inch
Flood Warning
  • Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast by main rivers
  • Until late Saturday night

  • Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches
  • Until 4 PM EST this afternoon
  • Plan on slippery road conditions
 
Pennsylvania

  • Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch

  • Plan on slippery road conditions
  • Light Glaze of ice possible in some areas
