Major winter storm Viola will slowly move out of the South Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley and into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Significant icing may develop in parts of North Carolina and Virginia. Strong thunderstorms may produce a couple of tornadoes in the Southeast, and localized flash flooding in the Southeast to Mid-Atlantic. Bitter cold will remain entrenched into this weekend. Freight embargoes are in place across the impacted areas, including freight moving into or through TX, especially from the LA basin. As Viola continues to move east, transit along the I-95 corridor will be greatly impacted.
