Summary:
A strong storm will track across the southern Plains to the Great Lakes through Thursday. A ribbon of heavy snow is forecast to stretch from the central High Plains into the Great Lakes region. A narrow corridor of sleet and freezing rain from northern Missouri, northern Illinois to southeast lower Michigan. Severe thunderstorms are expected from the lower Mississippi Valley to the Ohio Valley. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-29, I-35, I-380, I-90, I-94, I-39, I-41, I-43, I-88, I-74, I-57, I-355, I-290, I-55, I-69, I-24, I-65, I-64, I-75, I-71, I-96


Tennessee
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban, roadways or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

Kentucky
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM EST this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Flood Watch remains in effect until late tonight

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Louisiana
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Iowa
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches. Breezy winds from the north are likely to produce areas of blowing and drifting snow, especially in rural areas.
  • Impacts: Travel is likely to be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
