Summary:
Heavy snow and blizzard conditions for portions of the northern Plains and upper expected into into Wednesday. A new storm crossing the Four-Corners region will bring snow for areas of the Plains, Midwest and Great Lakes through Thursday. Strong to severe thunderstorms with heavy rain to impact Ark-La-Tex, Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley and Mid-South Wednesday and Thursday. Impacted Lanes: I-635, I-70, I-76, I-25, I-40, I-10, I-80, I-35


Kansas
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 AM CST Thursday morning

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will cause blowing and drifting of snow.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST Thursday morning

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Minnesota 
Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Blizzard conditions. Total snow accumulations of up to three inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Snow, blowing snow, and refreeze happening on roads. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Texas 
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • Southwest to west winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. 
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few power outages may result. Blowing dust will cause reduced visibility at times. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST this evening

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. 
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Additional Blizzard Warnings include but are not limited to: North Dakota and South Dakota

Additional Wind Advisories include but are not limited to: California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine

Additional High Wind Warnings include but are not limited to: Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico
