Summary: Heavy, accumulating snow is likely today in the Cascades and Sierra Nevada, ahead of a developing winter storm expected to produce the first widespread and significant snow of the season across parts of the Sierra Nevada, Intermountain West, Central Rockies, and central High Plains tomorrow and Friday. Meanwhile, light snow is expected from the Ohio Valley and upper Great Lakes into the Northeast today and tomorrow.
