Summary: A series of Pacific storms will bring periods of heavy low elevation rain and mountain snow to much of the western U.S. through the Christmas weekend. Isolated urban and small stream flooding impacts will be possible along the immediate West Coast and into portions of the Central Valley in California this week. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms may occur across the Florida Peninsula Tuesday. Winter Advisories: Washington, Oregon, California, Wyoming, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts

Heavy snow possible overnight tonight above 3000ft across the Cascade and Olympic Mountains
  • 14-24 inches of snow
  • From late tonight through late Wednesday night
Will likely impact transit along I-90 and US-2, especially through Snoqualmie and Stevens Passes
 
Oregon
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected tomorrow across south central OR
  • 7-14 inches of snow
  • 25-45mph wind gusts
  • From 4 PM Wednesday to 10 AM PST Thursday
Winter Storm Watch
Moderate to heavy snow possible this evening above 3500ft across the Cascades
  • 8-14 inches of snow
  • Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon
California
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow expected this week across the Sierras and northern CA
  • 3-4 feet of snow
    • Local amounts up to 9 feet
  • 30-40mph wind gusts
  • 4 PM Wednesday to 4 PM Sunday
Will likely impact transit along I-5 and I-80, as well as other routes through the mountains

  • 45mph wind gusts
