Weather Update 11.30.20 - U.S.

Caused by an area of low pressure moving through the Appalachians, Winter Storm Dane will bring moderate to heavy rainfall, strong to severe thunderstorms, and snow for much of the eastern U.S. through Tuesday. In the wake of the system, some areas in the South may see temperatures exceed 20 degrees below average. Active Advisories: Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, North Carolina

Indiana
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy lake effect snow developing this morning across northwest IN
  • 8 inches of snow
  • 40mph wind gusts
  • Until 9 AM EST /8 AM CST/ Tuesday
Transit will likely be impacted as the day progresses including along I-90 and I-94
 
Michigan
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected today across southeast MI
  • 2-5 inches of snow
  • 35mph wind gusts
  • From 3 PM this afternoon to 4 PM EST Tuesday
Ohio
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow expected overnight across northeast OH
  • 8-12 inches of snow
  • 35mph wind gusts
  • From 7 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Wednesday
Travel could become very difficult including along I-80, I-90, I-77 and I-71

Snow expected overnight across the state 
  • 2-4 inches of snow
  • 4-6 inches in northeast OH south of the snow belt
  • 35mph wind gusts
  • From 7 PM this evening to 1 AM EST Wednesday
Transit across the state will likely be impacted

  • 2-3 inches of snow
  • From 4 PM today to 7 AM EST Tuesday.

  • 1-3 inches of snow
  • From noon today to 6 AM CST Tuesday.
New York
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow expected overnight tonight across the Erie lakefront
  • 8-15 inches of snow
  • 35mph wind gusts
  • From 1 AM Tuesday to 1 PM EST Wednesday
Travel will likely become very difficult including along I-90
 
Pennsylvania
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected overnight tonight across western PA
  • 2-4 inches of snow
  • 4-7 inches in the northwest
  • From 1 AM Tuesday to 7 AM EST Wednesday
Will likely impact transit including along I-79, I-70, and I-80
 
West Virginia

Snow expected overnight tonight across the state
  • 2-4 inches of snow
  • From 8 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Tuesday
Will likely impact transit including along I-77, I-64, and I-79
 
North Carolina
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow expected today along the western border
  • 4-8 inches of snow, up to 12
  • 45mph wind gusts
