Weather Update 11.19.21 - U.S.

Summary: A cold front sweeping through the Eastern U.S. will deliver below normal temperatures for the Eastern half of the country on Friday, basically east of the Mississippi River. Meanwhile, a system from the Northwest will produce heavy snow across the northern Intermountain West on Friday. Finally, persistent onshore flow will result in rain and heavy snow for portions of the Alaska Panhandle. Winter Advisories: Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York
 
Washington
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow continuing this morning above 2500ft across central and northeast WA
  • 2-3 inches of additional snow
  • Until 7 AM PST this morning
Impacting transit along I-90 including through Snoqualmie pass
 
Idaho
Winter Weather Advisory
Wet snow continuing this morning across the panhandle
  • 3-5 inches additional snow above 3500ft
  • 1 inch additional snow in the valleys
Impacting transit along I-90 including through Fourth of July and Lookout Pass
 
Montana
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected this morning across western MT
  • 3-7 inches of mountain snow
  • 1-3 inches of valley snow
  • From 4 AM to 10 AM MST Friday
Impacting transit along I-90 including through Lookout Pass
 
Wyoming
Winter Weather Advisory
Periods of heavy snow expected today across the Teton and Gros Ventre mountains
  • 6-12 inches of snow in the Tetons
  • 3-6 inches of snow through the Gros Ventre passes
I-80, US-287 and US-30 are currently closed due to gusting winds from just east of Rawlins to Laramie

  • 2-4 inches of snow
  • Through noon EST Friday
May impact transit along I-90 east of Cleveland

Lake effect snow expected this morning across northwest PA
  • 1-3 inches of snow
    • Locally 4-5
  • Until 1 PM EST Friday
May impact transit along I-90 and I-79
 
New York
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected this morning across the Erie and Ontario lake effect areas
  • 4-8 inches of snow
  • Until 1 PM EST Friday
