U.S. Weather Update 11.15.23

Summary:
Low pressure moving from the northeast Gulf of Mexico across Florida will bring heavy rain Wednesday into Thursday especially for southeast Florida which could produce areas of flooding. A Pacific storm stalled off California and another storm in the Northwest U.S. will rain and mountain snow over the next few days. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-5, I-82, I-80, I-25, I-40, I-27, I-20, I-10, I-12, I-55, I-22, I-65, I-75, I-95, I-16, I-85, I-77, I-26


Wyoming
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST Thursday evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches expected, mainly above 9000 feet in elevation.
  • Impacts: Falling and blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and produce slick road conditions.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 AM MST Friday morning

  • West winds 30 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers.

Louisiana 
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 AM CST Friday morning

  • Moderate coastal flooding.
  • Impacts: Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM CST Friday morning

  • Minor coastal flooding.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST Thursday morning

  • Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects such as outdoor holiday decorations. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Montana

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM MST Thursday morning

  • Snow expected Elevations above 4500 feet in the Clark Fork region. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be affected.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM MST Thursday morning

  • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Strong crosswinds will make travel difficult along Interstate 90 from Livingston to Big Timber and roads along the Beartooth Foothills.

Washington
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Florida
Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 AM EST Thursday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM CST this evening

  • Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM CST Thursday morning

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.
