U.S. Weather Update 11.14.23

Summary:
High pressure will provide fair weather to much of the contiguous U.S. today into Thursday. Low pressure moving along the Gulf Coast and across Florida will continue heavy rain today into Thursday with a marginal risk of flash flooding. A Pacific storm stalled off the West Coast will bring several rounds of rain and mountain snow to California through the week. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-5, I-10, I-55, I-12, I-59, I-65, I-75, I-95, I-4, I-295


Louisiana
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST Wednesday evening

  • Northeast winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM CST Thursday morning

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 AM CST Thursday morning

  • Significant coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property will be inundated.

Montana
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM MST Thursday morning

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of between 2 and 5 inches across lower elevations, 4 to 8 inches near Marias Pass, and 8 to 12 inches above pass level. Winds may gust over 40 mph at times.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be required for some vehicles.

Washington
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Motorists should be prepared for limited visibility on Interstate 90 between Spokane and Ritzville. Portions of U.S. 2 between Airway Heights and Davenport will also be quite foggy.

Florida 
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM CST Wednesday evening

  • Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM EST Wednesday morning

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 5 AM EST Thursday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
