U.S. Weather Update 11.14.22

Summary:
A storm will develop over the southern Plains Monday then shift to the eastern Great Lakes before transferring off the coast of New England through Wednesday night. This will bring areas of rain, thunderstorms, snow, ice, and mixed precipitation. Strong offshore winds likely in southern California Tuesday and Wednesday may cause some damage and power outages along with critical fire weather.


Oklahoma
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • Heavy wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • Wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. 
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Texas
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 12 PM CST this afternoon

  • Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph, are expected
  • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

 Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM CST this afternoon

  • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • Snow accumulations 1 to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph may cause areas of blowing snow.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Idaho
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Additional Winter Advisories include but are not limited to: Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansas,  New Mexico and Colorado

Additional Dense Fog Advisories include but are not limited to: Oregon
