Weather Update 11.13.20 - U.S.

The center of Eta will pass just offshore of the coast of South and North Carolina through Friday morning. Widespread minor to moderate and scattered major river flooding is occurring in the wake of Eta. A series of storm systems will continue to impact the Western U.S. into next week with damaging high winds, heavy coastal rain and heavy mountain snow. Active Advisories: Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado

Washington
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow continuing above 3000ft across the state
  • 10-18 inches additional accumulation
  • Until 4 AM PST Saturday
Impacting transit including along I-90 through Snoqualmie pass
 
Oregon
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow expected across the cascades beginning this evening
  • 6-10 inches of snow above 4000ft
  • 50-70mph wind gusts above 5000ft
  • 1-5 inches of snow below 4000ft
  • 25-30mph wind gusts below 5000ft 
Will impact transit including along I-5 and I-85
 
California
Winter Weather Advisory
Wet snow expected into to night above 3000ft through the Sierra Nevada
  • 2-5 inches up snow, up to 10
  • Winds gusting 50-70mph above 5000ft
  • 4 AM to 10 PM today
Will likely impact transit along I-5 and I-80 through Donner Pass
 
Idaho
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow continuing today across the state
  • 3-5 inches additional snow
  • 7-10 inches additional int eh mountains
  • Until noon PST today
Impacting transit along I-90 and I-84
 
Nevada
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected to begin today across northeast NV
  • 2-6 inches of snow
  • From 10 AM Friday to 4 AM PST Saturday
May impact transit including through I-80
 
Montana
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected this evening across northwest MT
  • 2-4 inches of snow
  • 5-7 inches over Lost Trail pass
  • 40mph wind gusts
  • From 5 PM this afternoon to 11 AM MST Saturday
Will likely impact transit including along I-90
 
Wyoming
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy and blowing snow expected across western WY later today
  • 12-18 inches of snow in the Tetons
  • 8-10 inches in the Gros Ventres
  • 50mph wind gusts
  • From 3 PM today through Saturday evening
Will impact transit in the region.
 
Utah
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow expected this afternoon across the north central mountains
  • 12-20 inches of snow
  • 50mph wind gusts
  • From 3 PM this afternoon to 4 PM MST Saturday
Will likely impact transit including along I-84, I-80, and I-15
 
Colorado
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow expected this evening across central CO
  • 6-10 inches of snow
  • 55mph wind gusts
  • From 9 PM this evening to 6 PM MST Saturday
Will likely impact transit including along I-70 and I-25
