Weather Update 11.11.20 - U.S.

Tropical Storm Eta will move close to but offshore of the southwest coast of Florida Wednesday and move inland over the northern portion of the Florida peninsula on Thursday. Eta will bring Tropical-storm-force winds, Life-threatening storm surge and heavy rainfall with a potential for flooding. Meanwhile, the remnants of Winter Strom Constance are lingering in the U.S. West. Further Northeast, heavy rain may lead to flash flooding Wednesday from the southern Appalachians into the Mid-Atlantic. Active Advisories: Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Florida

Snow continuing today above 3000ft in the Northern Cascades
  • 2-6 inches additional snow
  • 6-12 inches snow storm total
  • Through 10 am Wednesday

Idaho

Winter Weather Advisory

Snow continuing today across the central panhandle
  • 1-3 inches snow
  • 4-6 inches above 3000ft
  • From 6 PM MST /5 PM PST/ this evening to 11 AM MST /10 AM PST/ Wednesday
Impacting transit along I-90 including Lookout and Fourth of July Passes
 
Montana
Winter Weather Advisory
Snow continuing today across western MT
  • 1-3 inches additional snow
  • 2-6 inches for lower elevations
  • Until 5 PM MST Wednesday
Impacting transit along I-90 west of Missoula
 
Wyoming
Winter Storm Warning
Heavy snow continuing today over northwest WY
  • 5-10 inches additional snow
  • 40mph wind gusts
  • Until 10 PM this evening
 
Tropical Storm Eta
 
Tropical Storm Eta is tracking towards the Florida Gulf Coast, where it is expected to make landfall sometime on Thursday
 
Tropical Storm Warning 
Tropical Storm Conditions are expected along Florida's western coast late Wednesday into Thursday.
  • Bonita Beach north to the Suwannee River, including
    • Tampa-St. Petersburg, 
    • Sarasota
    • Ft. Myers
  • Dry Tortugas west of the lower Florida Keys
Hurricane Watch
Hurricane conditions are possible along parts of Florida's western coast by early Thursday
  • Anna Marie Island to Yankeetown
Storm Surge Watch 
Gulf water inundation is possible within the next 48 hours for parts of Florida's west coast
  • Bonita Beach to the Steinhatchee River
    • 2-4' possible
    • Includes  Tampa Bay and Charlotte Harbor
Flooding Rainfall
Eta may produce the following rainfall amounts through Friday
  • Western Florida
    • 2-4 inches, up to 6
  • South and North Florida
    • 1-2 inches, up to 4
The region from Miami to Fort Lauderdale has already seen 10-18 inches of rainfall from Eta, causing flooding throughout the area
