U.S. Weather Update 10.21.22

Summary:
A major weather pattern change is expected to start on Friday and continue throughout the weekend across the Northwest and West featuring inclement conditions and below normal temperatures. A strong cold front will dig through the Northwest on Friday and carve through the West over the weekend with heavy mountain snowfall for the northern and central Rockies and gusty winds throughout the region. Impacted Lanes: I-80 North


Utah
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from Noon Saturday until Midnight MDT Sunday night

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 18 inches
  • Impacts: Heavy snow will result in winter driving conditions, especially for seasonal routes and mountain passes.

High Wind Warning remains in effect from 6 AM Saturday until Midnight MDT Saturday night

  • Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. Winds will be the strongest Saturday morning
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult especially for high profile vehicles.
