A cold front pressing south across the northern and central Plains today will bring gusty winds creating critical fire weather for parts of the region. Red Flag Warnings and Fire Weather Watches have been issued. Dangerous heat continues in parts of the Desert Southwest through Friday. Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect for southwest Arizona into Nevada and large portion of coastal California. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-25, I-90, I-40, I-75, I-24, I-65, I-59, I-95
Wyoming
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 1 PM MDT this afternoon
- West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.
- Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers.
Tennessee
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning
- Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
Flood Warning remains in effect until 7:30 PM EDT this evening
- Flooding caused by previous excessive rainfall continues.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water over roadways.
New Jersey
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM EDT this afternoon
- Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.
Montana
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM MDT this morning
- Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph occurring.
- Impacts: Strong crosswinds will make travel difficult along Interstate 90 from Livingston to Big Timber and roads along the Beartooth Foothills. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
