U.S. Weather Update 10.19.22

Summary:
Strong high pressure continues to produce anomalous warmth and air quality issues in the Pacific Northwest. Early season storm is bringing heavy snow, high winds, and large waves in the Great Lakes and heavy rain in Maine. This system may bring the first freeze of the season to much of the South and East. Powerful Alaskan storm may produce high winds and heavy rain across southeast Alaska. 


Michigan 
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

  • Rain turning to snow early this morning. Additional snow accumulations of up to three inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Maine
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of small rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations especially over areas that received heavy rainfall late last week. Some Low-lying roadways may flood.
