U.S. Weather Update 10.13.22

Summary:
Strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy to excessive rainfall are expected across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic on Thursday with the arrival of a strong cold front. Meanwhile, gusty winds are likely across the northern and central Plains on Thursday.


North Dakota
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening

  • Northwest winds with gusts up to 60 mph, is expected
  • Impacts: Damage to trees and power lines will be possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Blowing dust will be possible in open areas with exposed ground, and may create reduced visibility.

Maine
Flood Advisory remains in effect until Saturday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with fallen leaves. Low-lying roadways may become flooded.
