Weather Update 10.12.21 - U.S.

Summary: Heavy snow and powerful winds continue across the Great Basin mountains, Rockies, and into the High Plains, creating hazardous travel conditions. Severe storms developing in the Plains ahead of this front may have damaging winds, large hail, and a couple of tornadoes. Meanwhile, Pacific Hurricane Pamela, while not expected to directly impact the US, is forecast to make landfall along the west-central coast of Mexico as a major hurricane some time on Wednesday morning. Adverse conditions are expected across Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, and western Durango. Heavy rains from Pamela's remnants are expected across portions of central Texas and southeastern Oklahoma late Wednesday and Thursday, which may result in flooding. Advisories: Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota
