The remnants of Helene will push offshore Tuesday as a cold front shifts across the eastern U.S. A late season heat wave continues over parts of central and southern California and the Desert Southwest into Friday. Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EDT this morning
- Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
- Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Flood Warning remains in effect until 1:45 PM EDT this afternoon
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. Water over roadways.
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning
- Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 4 AM EDT Wednesday morning
- One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be 1 to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depth to close numerous roads. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding of vehicles.
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM EDT Wednesday afternoon
- Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property experience shallow flooding.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning
- Visibility could drop to one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
