Summary:
The endless onslaught of potent systems with atmospheric rivers of moisture continue to inundate California. Torrential rain, widespread flooding, rapid water rises, mudslides and landslides with possible debris flows, heavy mountain snow and gusty high winds all remain threats to the Golden State. On Tuesday, heavy to excessive rainfall remains possible, especially in southern California. Impacted Lanes: I-605, I-210, I-5, I-15, I-80, I-580, I-84, I-25, I-90, I-70, I-69, I-75


California
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 18 inches above 4000 feet, locally up to 30 inches over the higher peaks. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Strong winds could cause tree damage. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility resulting in periods of near whiteout conditions.

Flood Warning remains in effect until late tonight

  • Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

  • Wet snow above 3500 expected. Total snow accumulations 3 to 6 inches except for up to 9 inches at Snowman's Summit and higher amounts in the mountains. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM PST this evening

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by thunderstorms and excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM PST this afternoon

  • South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Flood Watch remains in effect until late tonight 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

Washington
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM PST this afternoon

  • Visibility less than one mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Alabama
Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility less than one mile in freezing fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility and potential frost or icing on bridges.
