Summary:  The next few days will overall be tranquil across the Lower 48 with no major storm systems. Temperatures will mainly be below normal in the Eastern two-thirds of the U.S. Locally heavy snow is expected in the central and southern Rockies and High Plains. Light to moderate snow will move through New England today before a clipper system exits the region tonight.
 North Dakota

A wind chill warning is in effect until noon today.

South Dakota
Wind Chill Warning
A wind chill warning is in effect for north central & northeastern South Dakota today until noon.
  • Wind chills -35
 
Minnesota
Wind Chill Warning
A wind chill warning is in effect until noon today.
  • Wind chills -45
 
Iowa
Wind Chill Advisory
A wind chill advisory is in effect until noon today.  It returns tonight from 9pm to noon on Wednesday.

Wisconsin
Wind Chill Advisory
A wind chill advisory is in effect until noon today.

Illinois
Wind Chill Advisory
Northern Illinois is under a wind chill advisory from 8pm tonight until 9am CST on Wednesday.

Indiana
Wind Chill Advisory
A wind chill advisory is in effect for northern Indiana from 1am to 11am EST on Wednesday.
  • Wind chills -20
 
Ohio
Wind Chill Advisory / Winter Weather Advisory
West central Ohio is under a wind chill advisory from 1am to 11am ETA on Wednesday.  A winter weather advisory is in place for Ashtabula county.  Lake effect snow is expected.  
  • Wind chills -15
  • Winter weather advisory: 4-6 inches of snow accumulation
 
Colorado
Winter Weather Advisory
Northeastern Colorado is under a winter weather advisory until 5pmMST today.  Snow will be ongoing.
  • 2-5 inches snow accumulation
 
Kansas
Winter Storm Warning / Winter Weather Advisory
A winter storm warning is in effect for western Kansas and from central to western Kansas the remainder of the state is under a winter weather advisory.  The difference in the warning versus the advisory is for the amount of snowfall expected.  
  • Winter storm warning:  4-7 inches; 1 to 2 inches per hour snowfall rates is expected to develop
  • Winter weather advisory:  3-5 inches
  • Travel on I-70 will likely be impacted
 
New Mexico
Winter Weather Advisory
Northeastern New Mexico is under a winter weather advisory.  Snow is expected.
  • 2-5 inches of snow accumulation
 
Michigan
Winter Weather Advisory
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7pm tonight for areas on the western side of MI bordering the lake.  Continued snow is expected.
  • 2-5 inches of snow accumulation
 
New York
Winter Weather Advisory
New York has a winter weather advisory in place for lake effect snow to include areas in Western New York.   Lake effect will be just north of Erie, PA and outside of  Rochester, NY.
  • 4-7 inches of snow accumulation
 
Maine
Winter Weather Advisory
Northern coastal Maine is under a winter weather advisory.  Snow is expected. 
  • 3-5 inches of snow accumulation
