Dan Jansen with skatesThis year's keynote speaker is Dan Jansen, an Olympic gold medalist and world champion speed skater known for his extraordinary talent and resilience. A four-time Olympian, Jansen has won 46 World Cup races, 7 overall World Cup titles and 2 World Sprint Championships. He also set 8 world records and won gold at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, earning him a place in the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame in 2004.

Jansen's journey is as much about personal courage as it is about athletic achievement. During the 1988 Winter Olympics, he learned that his sister, Jane, had passed away from leukemia. Despite this heartbreaking loss, he continued to compete, ultimately achieving Olympic glory. His story has been told in the book "Full Circle" and in a made-for-television movie.

In memory of his sister, Jansen established the Dan Jansen Foundation, which supports leukemia research, youth sports and educational programs. Dan Jansen's story is a testament to the power of perseverance. As a keynote speaker, Jansen shares his compelling story of triumph over tragedy, emphasizing the importance of resilience and persistence. His journey inspires people worldwide to overcome obstacles and view setbacks as stepping stones to greater success.
