The Hearts for Heartland Fundraiser is a charity event benefitting Heartland Education Community, Inc. (HEC), a nonprofit organization that supports the next generation of leaders and helps instill values and character. HEC invests time and volunteer-led resources in initiatives like English Language Learners, Character Education, Mentorship, OrrViews, Innovative Curriculum, Wellness Initiatives and many more. Proceeds will be donated directly to HEC.

From the Classroom to the Court—Character is Everywhere!

Students at Orrville Elementary, Middle and High School all participated in Character Week 2.0, starting with the Character Basketball Game. Students who exemplified good character and demonstrated the Character Words of the Month were invited to walk the court holding character banners, signs and glowsticks.

Camp Invention

Heartland Education Community supports Camp Invention as an extended summer learning program, providing students with a hands-on learning experience. The camp is designed to engage kids in the fields of STEM with experiments that fuel their curiosity and ingenuity.
Science Olympiad Spring 2025-1

Science Olympiad

With signed posters and big smiles, Orrville Elementary students cheered on the Middle School Science Olympiad Team before they headed to the state tournament. The Ohio Science Olympiad brings together top student teams from across the state to test their skills in STEM to promote curiosity, teamwork and big ideas!

As part of Character Week 2.0, students acknowledged their peers by posting colorful shout-outs, recalling a time when they went above and beyond to demonstrate high levels of character. The initiative was developed for this year's theme of Shining Bright with Good Character!

Members of the Elementary Character Leadership Council spent time reading to kindergarten classes, fostering a love of storytelling while modeling leadership, compassion and the importance of giving back to their school community.
Nurse Appreciation 2025

Nurse Appreciation Day

Students share big smiles and heartfelt messages on handmade signs as they show their appreciation and gratitude to the school’s dedicated nurses. Their colorful creations and kind words helped make Nurse Appreciation Day a little brighter for the heroes who care for them every day.

Bus Driver Appreciation Day

Students lined up with colorful signs, big smiles and lots of high-fives to say thank you to the bus drivers who make every school day start and end on the right track. It was a fun and cheerful way to celebrate the people behind the wheel!

The Heartland Education Community, Inc., was formed in the early 1990s to explore ways to leverage the talent and resources of the community for the betterment of education. From its founding, Heartland has intended to strengthen the sense of partnership between segments of the community – schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, parents and churches.

How much does it cost to attend?

General Admission costs $10 for adults and $5 for kids.

VIP Passes can be purchased for $50.

What's the difference between general admission and VIP?
  • VIP Admission: Join us in the exclusive VIP Tent for an elevated Hearts for Heartland experience. Your ticket includes access to the VIP Tent, our event signature frozen beverage, Old Carolina Barbecue, ice cream from Orr Valley Creamery, live music, and our silent and live auction.
  • General Admission Adult (18 and over): Enjoy a full evening supporting Heartland Education Community! Your ticket includes Old Carolina Barbecue, ice cream from Orr Valley Creamery, live music, and our silent and live auction.
  • General Admission Child (3–17): Kids are welcome at Hearts for Heartland! Children's tickets include Old Carolina Barbecue, ice cream from Orr Valley Creamery, live music, and our silent and live auction.
  • General Admission Infant (2 and under): Children age 2 and under are admitted free of charge. Come enjoy the music and the evening with the whole family!
