Michael Jarrett, founder and president of Jarrett Logistics Systems, Inc., has been recognized in the second annual “Corporate College Smart 50.” The distinction, from the Cuyahoga Community Corporate College in partnership with Smart Business Cleveland magazine, is given to leaders of the smartest companies in Northeast Ohio in 2015. The business leaders named in the list are given the award “in recognition of their talent to effectively build and lead innovative and “smart” organizations,” according to Robert J. Peterson, President and CEO of the Corporate College, as quoted in the magazine. Peterson commends “their positive impact on employment and business sustainability, and ability to generate new ideas and innovation,” and credits these executives for a rebirth of business in the Northeast Ohio region.

The article, which contains profiles of each recipient, lauded Jarrett for his open-door policy, accessibility, and management style that encourages mentoring, independent thinking, problem solving and accountability, and extreme customer service.

Michael Jarrett, whose extensive background in transportation management contributed to the steady growth and success of his company, established Jarrett Logistics Systems, Inc. (JLS) in 1999.
