Jarrett is honored to be awarded Supply & Demand Chain Executive 2021 Green Supply Chain Award. The Supply & Demand Chain Executive Green Supply Chain award recognizes companies who take sustainability measures as part of their product, services, and leadership strategies. Jarrett has also been awarded Food Logistics Top Green Provider the past three years (2019, 2020, 2021).

Supply & Demand Chain Executive is a supply chain publication that globally covers supply chain, with the focus being on trucking, warehousing, packaging, risk management, professional development, and more.

Jarrett has been recognized for their sustainability efforts throughout the company and their different locations on a daily basis. “We see doing our part to contribute to a more energy efficient world as a business best practice. Our goal is to reduce waste, whether that be material or energy, throughout our services,” said Michael Jarrett, president and CEO at Jarrett.

At the Logistics Systems divisions, 93% of total invoices have been sent electronically by initiating paperless invoices. Reusable water bottle fillers have been added to our drinking fountains, to encourage our employees to reduce their plastic water bottle usage. By focusing on this small part we may take in water conservation, we have been able to save tens of thousands of plastic bottles filling the landfills.

At Jarrett Warehousing, energy is saved by only lighting up sections that are being utilized, by motion sensored lights. Fleet maintenance has the potential to produce increased amounts of waste, which is why our technicians at Jarrett Fleet Services are persistent about scrapping aluminum and steel. In our sandblasting bay, metal shot is used rather than sand because 80% of the metal shot may be reused thousands of times, whereas sand could only be used once.

Each vertical at Jarrett seeks to improve and encourage long-term efforts of sustainability into everyday work life.

This year’s Supply & Demand Chain Executive Green Supply Chain Award will appear online.
