Weather Update 12.3.19

A powerful coastal storm will slide up the Northeastern and New England coastline over the next couple of days. Heavy snow is likely from the spine of the Appalachians into interior portions of the Northeast and much of New England; hazardous travel is anticipated. Also, a couple of storms will move into California and the Four Corners this week to produce locally heavy rain and mountain snow.

There are several patches of severe weather across the US:

CaliforniaWinter Weather Advisory - Southern Sierras above 7000ft. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 18 inches possible. From 10 PM this evening to 10 PM PST Wednesday.

IdahoWinter Weather Advisory - SE ID. Additional ice accumulations of a light glaze. Until 11 AM MST this morning.

MontanaWinter Weather Advisory - NW Central, east of Glacier National Park. Snow accumulations of up to 3 inches with winds gusting as high as 30 mph. Until 11 AM MST Tuesday. 

West Virginia/Pennsylvania - Winter Weather Advisory - Western side of the Alleghenies.  Light snow and freezing drizzle. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Until 10 AM EST this morning.

Winter Storm Ezekiel is finishing its week-long course by impacting parts of northeast New England:

New Hampshire - Winter Storm Warning - Eastern NH. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Until 5 PM EST this afternoon.

MassachusettsWinter Storm Warning - Eastern MA including Boston and surrounding areas. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Until noon EST Tuesday.

MaineWinter Storm Warning -  Total snow accumulations of 4 to 9 inches, with sleet and ice accumulations up to a half inch. Until 6 PM EST this evening.
