U.S. Weather Update 11.20.25

Summary:

Isolated severe thunderstorms and widespread showers may produce flash flooding across the Southern Plains through Thursday. Numerous instances of flash flooding are expected in south-central Texas, including portions of the Hill Country; and an additional area across eastern Oklahoma into the Ozarks on Thursday. Heavy rainfall and mountain snow will return to southern California on Thursday.
 
 

California

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 AM this morning until 10 AM Friday.

  • Snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches in central and southern Sierra Nevada. 
  • Wind gusts as high as 35mph. 
 Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 4 PM this afternoon through 4 PM Friday. 
  • Heavy wet snow expected above 6500 feet.  
  • Snowfall from 3 to 6 inches between 5500 to 6000 feet. 
  • Snowfall from 6 to 10 inches at higher elevations. 

Nevada

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 AM this morning until 7 AM Friday.

  • Snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches between 6000 and 7000 feet.
  • Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches with 12 to 18 possible at the highest peaks. 
  • Wind gusts as high as 80 mph along the Sierra crest. 
 

Arizona

Flood Watch remains in effect until this afternoon.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. 
  • A portion of south central Arizona. 

Texas

Flood Watch remains in effect until late this evening.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. 
  • Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, and streams.

 

Additional Dense Fog Advisory included but not limited to :  Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Texas.

Additional Freezing Fog included but not limited to : Ohio, New York, and Vermont.
